Accountant - Contract - 19391
Job Description
Our client is a respected organization based in Edmonton with a reputation for reliability, integrity, and a supportive team culture. They are seeking an experienced Accountant to join their team on a long-term contract basis. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys full-cycle accounting, values consistency, and is looking to contribute to a collaborative environment.
The Contract Accountant will play an important role in ensuring accurate financial reporting, maintaining strong internal controls, and supporting day-to-day accounting functions.
Contract Accountant responsibilities:
- Manage full-cycle accounting including journal entries, reconciliations, and reporting
- Support month-end and year-end close processes
- Prepare and review financial statements and reports
- Handle accounts payable and receivable duties
- Assist with budget preparation and variance analysis
- Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with internal procedures
- Collaborate with internal teams and provide financial insight as needed
- 3 or more years of hands-on accounting experience
- A strong understanding of full-cycle accounting principles
- High attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel
- Excellent time management and problem-solving skills
- A professional, flexible, and team-oriented approach
- The discussed rate is $25 – $40 per hour depending on experience
- Candidates with additional experience and higher compensation expectations may also be considered
- Long-term contract with full-time hours
