Job Description
Our client, a Manitoba success story with a great culture is seeking an accountant at head office to support their continued growth plan. Reporting to the Assistant Controller, you will be have responsibility for the day-to-day finance activities of several companies.

Reporting to the Assistant Controller, key responsibilities will include:
- Manage and record all financial transactions
- Prepare monthly financial statements
- Analyze and review financial reports
- Reconcile banks, accounts payable and accounts receivable
- Maintain capital assets ledger and record depreciation
- Ensure timely payment of vendors and invoicing of customers
- Prepare and file monthly/quarterly tax remittances
- Prepare year-end documents and assist external accountants
What the successful candidate will bring:
- A minimum of 2 years of relevant accounting experience
- Degree in finance or accounting
- Proficient in preparation of monthly financial statements
- Strong understanding of accounting principles
- Ability to work independently and within a team environment
- Strong time management skills and ability to multi-task
- Excellent communication skills
- Strong attention to detail and ability to problem solve
- Knowledge of Simply Accounting and high level user of Excel
