Site Superintendent / Supervisor - Rotational 14/7 (Vancouver or Calgary base) - 18787
Job Description
Our client, a leader in the Engineering and Construction space, is looking for a Site Superintendent / Supervisor to join their team in Vancouver, BC and/or Calgary, AB. They are currently going through a massive growth phase and with projects throughout Western Canada. This opportunity is ideal for someone looking for career growth, a team-oriented culture and security of a stable environment…which isn’t easy to find in these economic times.Â
This role is an on-site position, at various civil engineering projects throughout Western Canada. You’ll typically be on site for 14 days, then off for 7 days. Our client offers a great work environment and remuneration package.
Site Superintendent / Supervisor Responsibilities:
Project Preparation:
- Site visits before mobilization
- Order of materials, negotiating / finalizing purchases
- Ensure the deployment of the workers staff
- Run jobsites – complete daily safety program, work with main contractor to complete scope of job in timely manner
- Equipment selection and transport Â
- Be present on-site during mobilization, production and de-mobilization
- Strong relationships with suppliers
- Coordinate preventive maintenance and inventory adjustments Â
- Provide site feedback on the equipment performance
- Training of staff
- Health and Safety:
- Ensure all HSE requirements are respected according to risk assessment and safety manual and comply with Worksafe regulation
- Attend project Safety Orientation and make sure all staff and visitors have followed the Orientation prior to access the site
- Report accidents HSE
- 5+ years’ experience in the local construction field, ideally in an on-site function
- Education - Civil Engineering or Construction Management
- Exceptional written and oral communication skills
- Passion for construction and project management
- A strong work ethic, attention to detail, and excellent organizational skills
- $85,000-$120,000 expected annual salary depending on experience, with bonus and comprehensive benefits package
