My client, an award-winning healthcare company in Canada, is going through remarkable growth and expansion and is looking for a Nuclear Medicine Technologist to join their team of service professionals. Reporting to the Clinic Leader, the Nuclear Medicine Technologist will be responsible for executing Nuclear Medicine operations on lung, renal scans, spleen, hepatobiliary, liver, brain, bone, and thyroid. The ideal candidate will have certification and nuclear medicine performance experience, a friendly and respectfully demeanour, and the ability work independently and collaboratively.

What the Nuclear Medicine Technologist does:
  • Oversee patient identification, preparation, and safety to ensure accuracy prior to nuclear medicine examinations, and maintaining confidentiality
  • Record all relevant information pertaining to the patient’s history
  • Report to supervisor of abnormal or unusual circumstances and ensure compliance to departmental guidelines
  • Prepare and organize nuclear medicine equipment and comply to company’s standards
  • Manage supplies and communicate shortages
  • Radio pharmaceutical set up and managing quality
  • Performing nuclear medicine operations such as lung, spleen, renal spans, hepatobiliary, liver, brain, thyroid and bone
  • Provide I131 thyroid treatments, Bone Densitometry scans
  • Gallium scans, RBC liver/spleen scans
  • Venograms, dacrocystograms and testicular scans
  • Rest and stress MUGA’s
  • Confirm all quality control assessment are implement as required
  • Oversee all malfunctions in nuclear medicine equipment and perform maintenance, operation, and minor trouble shooting based on manufacturing guidelines
  • Provide a signature for all required documentation
  • Follow government and company regulations
  • Maintain continuing CMRTO registration and medical educational requirements necessary for ongoing certification
  • Support other internal staff when possible
  • Other duties when needed

What the successful candidate will bring:
  • Current and valid Certificate of Registration with the Association of Medical Radiation Technologists of the relevant province
  • Advance understanding and proficiency in general nuclear medicine procedures
  • Upkeep First Aid and CPR certificate
  • Excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent written and verbal skills
  • Willingness to work varying shifts
  • Self-evaluate performance, establish personal objectives and participate in yearly staff performance review
